Exhibit Highlights

The Mount Makersville Hollow Transit Authority is a hands-on transportation hub where movement, planning, and imagination come together.

This space invites children to design routes, build systems, and bring their own transit stories to life through interactive train and track play.

What You’ll Experience

Kids can construct track layouts, connect paths, and guide trains through stations, tunnels, and destinations they imagine themselves. As they build and rebuild, they experiment with cause and effect, balance, and spatial relationships.

The open-ended design encourages collaboration, allowing children to work together to expand routes, solve problems, and create shared stories around their transit systems.

Why It Matters

Building and guiding transit systems strengthens spatial reasoning, early engineering concepts, and problem-solving skills. Children learn how small changes affect the whole system and develop patience through trial and adjustment.

Storytelling layered onto construction helps connect logic with creativity, giving kids a deeper understanding of how systems work while still having fun.

The Maker’s Journey

The Result

A dynamic play space where thinking and imagination stay in motion. At the Mount Makersville Hollow Transit Authority, children learn how ideas connect, systems evolve, and stories travel from one place to the next.
